The essence of a person
"Life is hard. No matter what happens, do not allow life to make you hard, not toward yourself or other people." These words were spoken to a much younger Eugenia. They have gone a long way in shaping her outlook on life; informed her journey into portraiture and thus, how she sees those around her.
Within Eugenia’s purview it is insufficient to just reproduce the facial likeness of an individual. Her a portraits must be striking, bringing the image of the person’s face and thus them to life on canvas capturing the essence of the person.
It is ultimately her aim to portray the truth of a life worn on the face; told through the eyes and remembered in a work of art.
